Bradley Academy Dress Code

2014-2015

Students are expected to dress appropriately.  The following dress code will be enforced by the faculty/staff. The school reserves the right to notify parents when student’s dress is inappropriate.  Parents will be asked to come and get their child or bring appropriate clothes to school for their child. Sagging pants will not be tolerated. Students may be asked to turn shirts inside out if the shirt is inappropriate.

Pants, Shorts, Skirts:

Acceptable Dress:  Pants, Shorts or Skirts:  Jeans, shorts or pants must fit at the waist. Pants must be free of large distracting designs (no words on the seating area). If leggings are worn under shorts or skirts, the shorts and skirts must still be the required length.

Unacceptable Dress:  Distracting slogans, Shorts and skirts, including any slits, must be as long as or longer than the tip of the longest finger when the student’s arms are by the side of the body. Biking shorts, swimming trunks, spandex, yoga pants, tights, pajamas or boxer shorts are not permitted.

Shirts, Blouses and Dresses:

Acceptable Dress:  All shirts must fit appropriately. Shirts should not have words or graphics that promote violence or physical aggression or send negative messages.

Unacceptable Dress:  No distracting wording on shirts. Any dress considered too revealing or extremely form fitting will not be allowed. See-through outfits, bare midriffs, open backs, low-cut tops, tube tops, tank tops, halter-tops, mesh or revealing shirts are not permitted. Skin should not be visible between shirts and pants while sitting or extending hands overhead. Undergarments must be covered.

Shoes:  Tennis shoes are the best for all school activities. .  Shoes need to have a strap at the back and secure firmly to the foot. Students may not wear flip-flops, cleated athletic shoes, or shoes with wheels.

Hair, Jewelry & Other:

Hats, scarves, hair picks, stocking caps, hair curlers and other head coverings, disruptive hair styling or unnatural hair color, may not be worn in school.

Any article of clothing, hairstyle (color), or jewelry that is disruptive to the classroom is considered inappropriate.
